Story Of My Pet
I had a dog when I was twelve, his name was Browne. I loved him and adored him for his intelligence and fearless personality which made him unique. Actually, I came across Browne while he was still a puppy. It appeared that his owner had abandoned him on the road. It was instant love the very moment I looked into his watery eyes, at that time my heart melted down. My father warned me that this was a big responsibility for me and that I should be very careful if I was to keep this dog. He told me that I would need to work very hard at keeping this dog as it was a living being and it would need a lot of my attention. From that day on, I focused all my energies on my little dog. It became my best friend and I grew up extremely attached to it. He was loyal and faithful to me and my family by looking after our farm, keeping foxes and wild animals away. However, there was a time when he got into the bathroom trash can and dragged the dirty toilet papers throughout the house while we had company over.
Being with Browne taught me many things about life and emotions. Before having him, I never had any feelings of responsibility. I always thought that my actions would never be able to affect anyone on such a large magnitude. As I got more attached to it, I started realizing many things about myself and my feelings that I had never experienced before. I started to worry about my dog. I would be feeling very anxious if he ever remained out of my sight for a while and I could not find it, like the times he heard chipping sounds made by the birds, he raised his ears with excitement and pointed them towards the direction where the chirping sound originated.
In addition, keeping a strict check on him by feeding him regularly and taking him to the vet and pet store for medication and grooming has given me a completely new perspective on life. I have now begun to see how temporary our lives are on this world and how all of us are simply passing through this life towards our ultimate destination
